Spirited Away

Soprano Magdalena Kuzma, winner of the 2026 GJSO Young Artists Competition, joins for two works: Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915, a setting of James Agee’s poetry and one of the most personal and affecting pieces in the American repertoire, and “Quando m’en vo” from La Bohème. Respighi’s Fountains of Rome opens the concert with a beautiful splash of orchestral colors, and Joe Hisaishi’s suite from the film Spirited Away is a beautiful experience for the whole family. (And Spirited Away happens to be Maestro Latshaw’s very favorite movie.)
